Operation Expendable Forces
Game formate was CSPO rules, head and torso eliminations. If you call hit you're out. 6 hrs of non stop game play.
Weather was cloudy to overcast. Warm and humid, with some rain near the 2/3's point of the game.
Terrain varied from low bush and open trails to thick dense forest, with rolling hills through out. What I would consider excellent for this kind of game.
13 teams with 101 shooters in attendance
Registration started near the 8 am mark, game play was delayed by shortage of co2 and fill stations not co-operating. Play began around the 12:40 mark. And ended around 18:40
13 teams hit the field from individual starting points at the same time. While some walked away with out firing a shot, others came into direct fire at once making for an exciting time.
The main objective was to locate and hold the scientist that was being protected by D-man and myself. There were other objectives that were given to the team holding the scientist as to keep him moving on the field, thus putting the holding team at risk.
Also there was a missile that was to be assembled from parts located on the field and launched. While some teams did find some of the parts this objective was not completed. This would have been worth 15 minutes of hold time (if memory serves me correctly).
The game ended with prizes awarded. 2525.00 in cash that worked out to 9.47/minute for holding the scientist. As well as 29 boxes that had to be safely removed from the field of play with out dying equaled another 2100.00.
In all, I good time was had by all that attended.
I do wish to say thank you to all that helped out, that donated prizes and time, and that showed their support by playing. Thus making our first attempt at a big game such a success.

Great work Bear. I'm glad you left out the double tap.
By far the best battle of the day was against the Headhunter Teams for the scientist. What a rush. Too bad Fez got injured on that one. Way to get back in there though.
See you Saturday!

Great report Bear. Good job Toad, and congrats to all BW who played outstandingly, especially for a team of relatively new membership. One more correction. RAT's held the scientist for the last 45 minutes with only 4 members. nearing the last 15 minutes of RAT control, Avi, Crash, and somer others came to reinforce. Avi and Zboi were eliminated leaving Girley (babysitting), Helix (right flank), Hellcat (left flank), Crash (centre defence). We held the objective for another 10 minutes with only 4 members and held our own against the insurmountable numbers advancing. I can only hope that I took out a few opfor in a last stand attempt. Truly gloriously overrun. I high fived Toad as I left the field. I was severly lit-up. Good job to all BW once again. Nothing but pure fun always to be had.

Game-Hire Guns Operation Expendable Forces Location – Temiskiming Nordic Ski Club Terrain – Dense mixed bush with numerous trails, rolling to steep hill’s Weather – Overcast, very humid 101 Players in attendance, 12 teams on field Hosted by the Algonquin Irregulars
Blackwatch Paintball entered its first game as a team with a showing of 11 players. The 11 were split into two registered teams
Team 1 consisted of Toad, Beaker, Thunder, Jazz, Greybeard and Click Team 2 consisted of Bearcat, BB, Teck, Crazii and Grimm
The teams were split with a mixture of experienced and new players, with 5 of the 11 players in attendance never having participated in a game before.
Objectives for the game were numerous:
Objective 1 Locate and maintain possession of the scientist – Points based on time for every minute of possession, contact to be made by 1 team member with the scientist at all times to be awarded time points.
Objective 2 Locate all 3 pieces of a missile – Get all 3 to the missile launch site, assemble it and hold it for 5 minutes to simulate the launch, this earned 25 bonus minutes of time.
Also the scientist gave out numerous envelopes at random to teams in possession of him with small objectives to gain bonus time; 28 prize cases were located around the field, safely getting the case off the field got your team the corresponding prize.
Team Goals for this game were modest with the hopes of collecting some prizes off the field, gaining valuable experience for our new players and most importantly having fun.
Game start saw all 12 Teams on field for a “shotgun” start. Quickly into the game the 2 Blackwatch Teams met against 2 of the 3 HeadHunter Teams all of which had 1 or more prize cases after some brief firefights and some thinned out teams, all left the field to turn in their prize cases. I believe 5 were brought in all together 2 by Blackwatch, 1 ended up being some pods and paint and 1 ended up being a new SW-1 Marker.
On reinsertions Blackwatch Team 2 tracked down the scientist who was in a team’s possession, Blackwatch Team 2 eliminated 2 Teams to gain possession of the objective. This was short lived as all escape routes from that area were cut off by 4 other teams. A brief defense was set up but eventually fell when we were engaged by the RAG squad as well. This netted 9 minutes of time.
Another reinsertion saw both Blackwatch Teams enter the field at the same time. It was learned that the HeadHunter R.A.T. Team had gained possession. Blackwatch’s 2 Teams entered the field with the other 2 HeadHunter Teams close behind. Blackwatch Team 2 took control of the objective briefly with big time assistance from Team 1. This was short lived as a major firefight, (soon to be seen on U-Tube), took place and eventually gave the objective back to the HeadHunters, after a heads up play by Crazii to assassinate the scientist to freeze the objective for 5 minutes prior to losing it. Good job!
At this point it was mutually decided to take a 45 minute break for our team as a couple of players had suffered injuries earlier in the day and had been trying to play through them. After the break it was decided to play out the day with 2 four man teams and go for the objective. It was learned that the Headhunters had held the objective the entire time. Blackwatch had been off the field. Knowing we were going against a team that had been playing strong all day and we were out numbered, we decided to recruit an Algonquin team and a local team from Latchford. Both were out looking for prizes but eager to help us gain the objective before returning them in. Now outnumbering the 3 HeadHunter teams almost 2 to 1 a large push was made to gain control.
At the end of the battle Toad was the lone Blackwatch player and he had the objective. Team 2 reinserted in to the game and while unable to locate Toad and the objective, done everything possible to harass and distract any remaining teams trying to locate the objective. Toad ran out the clock and gained Team 1 67 minutes of possession time. Great Job!
From modest goals at game start to a second place finish and fifth place finish on time for objective. Fantastic work by all Blackwatch members.
On personal side note, I would like to point out the great team work by Thunder and Jazz as a fire team. Great to see our drills and teachings materialized!! Also mention to Click who in her first big game took out 3 of the Headhunter R.A.T. Pack in one firefight. This may not mean much to some but these guys are good and not many very seasoned players can say they have done that.
Also great job to Teck, Crazii and Grim who kept up to me the whole day, smiling and laughing the whole time. Good job!!
Toad, Beaker, Thunder, BB and Greybeard, I can’t say enough good about you all!! I will follow you all into any game on any field anywhere.
In Conclusion from practice for this game, planning for it, prep and travel to playing this game itself, I only have one word to describe, the efforts of all involved …..TEAM!!!!
Thanks to all members of Blackwatch you have all made me proud!!
SALUTE!!! Bearcat
