Game Log

It was a beautiful Saturday morning as we pulled in to Weekend Warriors Paintball Field. I looked over at Haldrid and said "Its gonna be a great day for paintball". We had showed up earlier than needed so we caught up with friends that we hadn't seen since last years paintball season. Finally game time rolls around and we got game #1 started.

Horrible news, showed up early saturday morning to help remove burnt bunkers and other junk from Weekend Warriors when one the employees of Weekend put his cigarette butt out in the dry grass. As a plus though the field hasn't looked better, the fire cleaned up years of dead grass and removed objects that were just waiting for an excuse to be junked.

After doing some clean up I did manage to get two games in:

Hello anyone reading this, I'm trying to log all my outings so I can look back to see what happened at games I attended and were I need to grow as a player.

Went out for about 4 matches. First two didn't end well, first match I got googed early in the game and the second one I got pinched in a bad position and had two opponents crack shooting from east and west positions. The east opponent shot me on top of the head.

Wound up taking my son to sof for the march massacre, was fogy and damp most of the day with the sun coming out later in the day.Paint was crap, without inspecting you could see major dimples and other defects.Made the best of it as everyone was playing with the same handicap.Refing was ok ,looked like they were training some new employees for the upcoming season, field was in alittle rough shape, saw a couple rolled ankles, few local teams were there and lots of paint traded with them.Overall was a good day, only major complaint was grouped with a local team who decided to spend most of the d

So, we play every second weekend here in NB, regardless of winter.  Frostbite paint has been a Godsend.  I just got a new CCI phantom, and used it last week for the first time.  First game in, 5 hits, six shots, (my 12 year old son required two shots - he's slippery).

I still like and use my other gun, a SL 68 II with an apex, but this phantom is something else.

Made it finally out again since my injury on Halloween weekend. It was a small turn out but had a blast, won the first game of the day.

Good turn out with somewhere around 20 people. We ran predator and castle defense games with good runs. The predators had a good position with clear line of fire and their backs to the perimeter so the only option was a hard 90 degree flank on either side while someone distracted them. Bit of a hike back out there after each respawn but it was a solid game. Learning the field more and took some photos of the group and you can really tell how the various camo patterns work against different backgrounds. Looking forward to the next one.

Oct. 29, 2011

There was a big game done with four different scenarios from WW2. I made it only through 3 of the scenarios since i had to leave for a Halloween party and injuried myself during the last ten minutes of the third scenario.

The scenarios were good and taught a great amount keeping reserves and how to play with a time limit. The first three scenarios were a half hour each with objectives and health points. There were also bonus buildings to gain if you could hold a building at the end of the time limit.

Well boys I'm not overly impressed with the crowd that shows up on BYOP night @ Weekend.  I should have known that bonus balling and shooting hot would have been concern this night.

However something I did learn very valuable tonight was that just because I have skills, talent and leadership doesn't mean we will always win.  Everyday we come up against new challenges and feats we must over come.  For me this evening is to find a way to overcome a full-auto TM-15 strapped to an overly aggressive player, with only a semi-auto A-5A2.
